What is politics?
Politics is the process of making decisions for a group.
The word “politics” comes from two Greek words, “pólis”, meaning “city” or “state”, and “-logia”, meaning “the study of”. So politics literally means “the study of cities and states”.
Political decisions are about how to run a country or community. A political decision can be anything from deciding what to put in a budget to choosing the next president of your local PTA (Parent Teacher Association). Political decisions are about who gets what, when, where and how.
